Suzanne Atkinson, 87, passed away on Thursday February 28, 2019 after a brief illness. She was born Suzanne Motley on December 5, 1931 in Montreal, Canada to the late Stafford and Marcelle Motley and had two siblings, John and Madeline. Her husband, Stanley Atkinson, died two years ago. They had celebrated 49 years of marriage together. She leaves behind two sons, Kenneth (daughter-in-law Mariann) and Wesley (daughter-in-law Christine), two stepdaughters, Laura and Wendy, and four grandchildren: Joanna, Daniel, Amanda, and Jessica, and one great-grandchild, Kyla.

Suzanne spent her early career years working for Generals as a civilian Executive Secretary in the Army, and later in the administrative field in New York City for major corporations like Phizer. She and her husband retired early and moved to their dream home in the Catskill Mountains where they lived for most of their lives. Suzanne lived her final days at Good Samaritan Lutheran Home in Delmar, NY. She enjoyed reading the Bible and serving the elderly in nursing homes. She was a member of Preston Hollow Baptist Church. She leaves behind many friends and loved ones who appreciated her compassion and tenacity for those things she believed strongly in.
