Dear family of Sue and Stan Atkinson...I am Eileen Grasso (nee Zobel...formerly of East Durham, N.Y.). I have thought about your parents over the years and last spoke with them back in 1999 or 2000 when I searched them out to thank them for having a major impact on my life when they invited me to come to their church for a revival service...Although my family moved back to NYC where our fathers were NYPD together shortly after...I believe it was the 1st time I ever heard the gospel of grace and seeds were planted that would come to fruition years later. I called them all those years later to thank them, and let them know how grateful I was...Through those seeds I, and then my husband became born again. We answered God's call to the mission field and were comissioned by Campus Crusade for Christ and our local sending church into full time ministry to the former Soviet Union. As a side note...we had the precious privilege of leading both my parents and our children to Christ...as well as having brought the same gospel of grace to many on the other side of the world. Your mother, and father's faithfulness and love live on in me and and the many they unknkowingly touched through the seeds that were planted in a wayward teenage girl's heart all those years ago...I thought you would like to know this as you grieve their loss in the days ahead. For they truly were the "fragrance of Christ."
It was only through my google search of them now that I learned of your loss...please accept my heartfelt condolences...❤
