Capital Region Nurses Honor Guard Serving Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady, Saratoga, Columbia, and Greene Counties
Who We Are The Capital Region Nurses Honor Guard (CRNHG), is a group of volunteer nurses (RNs, LPNs, APRNs) from across the Capital Region who pay respect to their fallen colleagues. Upon request, the nurses of the CRNHG honor their compassionate service they provided to others by attending memorial, funeral, or graveside services. The CRNHG is a proud member of the NYS Nurses Honor Guard Coalition, a group of nurses representing 24 chapters across NYS covering 59 of 62 counties !
Mission: The mission of the Capital Region Nurses Honor Guard is to show our appreciation for our fallen colleagues for their lifelong compassionate service to their profession, patients, and communities. Service: The Nurses Honor Guard will assemble before proceeding to the designated area where the tribute will be recited. The Nightingale tribute is then recited by the group and the fallen colleague is presented with a single white rose. A final roll call is performed, and then the loved ones of the family are presented with the extinguished Nightingale lamp. The Nurse’s Prayer can be included upon request.
The Nurse’s Prayer May I be a nurse like them, Lord, with gentle healing hands Who always speaks with kindness, who cares and understands, and while I’m serving others as You would have me do, please help me to remember that I’m truly serving You. Amen.
