Obituary of Richard L. Hulbert

DURHAM – Richard L. Hulbert, 69, passed away Sunday morning, November 12, 2017. He was born in Albany on October 9, 1948, son of the late Llewellyn and Helen Kellam Hulbert. Richard was raised in Oak Hill and graduated from Greenville Central School and Hudson Valley Community College. He served in the US Marine Corps and was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. Richard later attended the College of the Desert in California and Wharton School of Business. He retired in 2010 as Vice-President of Communications for the Bank of New York in Manhattan. He also was a published author of a teaching book about Six Sigma. Richard was a member of Durham Valley American Legion Post 1416. Richard is survived by his wife, Colleen Murray Hulbert; his children, Ian (Jocelyn) Hulbert and Erin (Audrey) Hulbert; three grandchildren, Miles, Liam, and Lexie; his siblings, Cathy Hulbert, Cheryl (Ed) Cox, Bradley "Brad" (Shirley) Hulbert, Sean (Melissa) Hulbert, and the late Mark "Chip" Hulbert, whose wife Beth survives; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Sunday, November 19, from 2 to 5 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. Cremation will follow, and his ashes will be buried privately at a later date. Memorial donations to the Parkinson's Foundation or the Veterans Administration will be appreciated.
