I was going through a bunch of old photos taken in the Marine Corps and remembered Dick. I looked his name up and saw his obituary. Dick was my mentor overseas. He was just a great guy and an outstanding Marine. Semper Fi.

I worked with Dick for several years at Bank of New York. I only wish it had been longer, as we both left the bank in 2010. He was a great guy, and will be sorely missed.

I'm sorry to learn Dick's passing.
I met Dick during the Summer of our Jr. High years. He was 11 days older than me and we eventually shared the high school class of '66. He attended Greenville and I went to Middleburgh.
I spent a lot of time in Oak Hill with Dick, along with local hooligan Joe Rao and a city "boarder", Tom Zielinski. We ran up and down the Catskill Creek; played baseball on the field across the bridge, next to coach Emil Busch's home and at the Blue Inn diamond in Norton Hill; drank cherry-cokes and milkshakes at Woody's gyp joint; swam at Brown's Hole and High Rocks.
After entering high school, we went our separate ways.
Around the turn of the century, on one of my trips back to New York, I decided to locate Dick for a visit. My mother was still alive and we traveled to Cooksburg, near the farms formerly owned by John Makely and Ralph Disbroe. Dick was gracious in welcoming us and introducing his family. We spent an hour reminiscing our childhood and experiences in the military. Now, I'm glad I made the effort.
As a fellow member of the military, Dick, thank you for your service.
It is gratifying to learn Dick accomplished much during his personal and professional life.
Cathy and Cheryl, I remember you from the early '60s and hope you are able to look forward with minimal sorrow. To the rest of Dick's family, I am proud to have called him a friend.

Dick Hulbert was my brother-in-law for 17 years. We had a special bond that was unique because of our "status" in the family. He believed in my ability to recover, survive and achieve personal success. He was always somewhat of a mystery and his desire to create new technology was never ending. He was the ultimate geek. He showed me the first computer I had ever seen. He was my first email buddy when I owned my first computer. He always encouraged me to learn more and never limit myself. I will never forget him and always be grateful for his believe in me and the support Dick and Colleen always gave my young family.
My thoughts and prayers are with Colleen , Ian and Erin and family. Im there with you in spirit.
Rest in Peace Uncle Dick.

Very few people have had an impact on others in both personal and professional relationships. Dick will forever be remembered as one of the few in this world who did just that. I will always remember his professionalism but moreover, his friendship. He was the brother I did not have and the person who would help anyone at any time. Will miss his laughter, the good times we had and the occasional cigars that sometimes turned him a little green. The world has lost a man among men and I am, and will always be, proud to call him my fellow Marine and Brother.
God Bess,
Frank
