I was a friend of Oliva since 1950. We met in Troy where we both worked. I went home to Gayhead, NY most weekends and on several occasions, Oliva went with me. We used to eat our evening meal together after a long day of work. Later on she married, and we lost track of each other. I don't recall how we found each other again but we did!
She was a good friend and we had many great times together! I will miss her thoughtfulness, generosity, and friendship. She was intelligent and loved to play games. I gave her a word game called Bananagrams after we spent a couple of hours playing it last year. She really enjoyed playing it. She also liked to play several card games and was an excellent scrabble player. She was a good sport and could see the funny side of things.
My daughter Amy and I invited Chris (as I called her) on several different road trips to Saratoga Springs and Pawlet, Vermont. She was always easy going and agreeable to most anything.
She always kept up with current events, and would give her gentle opinions on a variety of topics.
May God bless her soul.
