Of all the teachers I had in school Miss Fennessy had a tremendous impact on me in 4th grade and indeed, for the rest of my life. We absolutely adored her! Beautiful, spunky, and kind. I believe my class was her first year of teaching, but you never would have known. Largely because of her influence on me, a scared student in a new school, I became a teacher. When we misbehaved in class, she made us write the 48 states 48 times! In my autograph book she wrote, "Dear vivacious one" and that one greeting warms my heart even today. My only regret is that I did not tell her how I felt in person, but now she knows how much I loved her. Barbara O'Brien
