Obituary of Mary Cornell
GREENVILLE - Mary Cornell, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 12, 2015 in St. Peter's Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born on December 14, 1924. Mary was originally from Texas, and had lived in Greenville for over 60 years. She worked as a cook at the local resorts, such as Colonial Manor, Shepherd's Farm, and Balsam Shade. Mary is predeceased by her husband Harold Cornell; her long time companion of over 40 years, Burdette Griffin; and her sons, Gary and Michael Cornell.
Mary is survived by her granddaughters, Missy Santucci and Krystal Cornell; her great grandchildren, Hailee P. Hennessey, Corbin Michael Santucci, and Jackson David Santucci; Burdette's family, who treated her as their own; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday May 16 at 2:30pm at the Greenville Cemetery. Mary's family would like to thank St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for taking such good care of her for the past 5 years.
