Obituary of Bruce Everett Brink
DURHAM - Bruce Everett Brink passed away November 1, 2014, at St. Peters Hospital after a 3 year battle with cancer. He was born on August 7, 1946 to the late Charles E. Brink and Katharine E. Brink. Bruce was born and raised a farmer, all of his animals were pets and he loved each one. He was a proud member of the Greenville Future Farmers of America when he was in school. After graduation, he had a large flock of Suffolk sheep, as well as dairy cattle. He also had a milk route, hauling canned milk before bulk milk was available. Bruce ran a dairy farm until 1993, and still has beef cattle today. He drove school bus at Cairo-Durham Central Schools for 40 years. He had an outstanding safety record and was proud of it. He was also proud of having kids on his bus whose parents also rode his bus route when they were in school.
He is survived by his wife Bonda Lee Brink, his son Brian (Delsia) Brink, daughters Sherri Ormsbee and Lori (Michael) Conners, granddaughters Emiliana Brink, Emily and Rachel Conners, his great granddaughter, Chelsea Rae Thrasher, his brother Ernest (Peggy) Brink, sister Bonny (Andrew) Sattler, numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and close family member June Marie (Bob) Abrams as well as many other cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Carol Lyon and nephew, Charlie Lyon.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday November 4th from 4 to 7pm with a funeral service to follow at 7pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home 4898 State Route 81 Greenville, NY 12083. Burial will be at the West Durham Cemetery in Durham, NY on Wednesday November 5th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Eddy Visiting Nurse Association 159 Jefferson Heights, Catskill, NY 12414. Condolences can be posted at ajcunninghamfh.com.
