Obituary of Nathan C. Turon
GREENVILLE - Nathan Charles Turon traveled to Heaven on May 14, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving friends and family. Nate battled cancer with humor and grace, passing from this life with the same positive attitude he possessed his entire life, overcoming one obstacle after another. Nate was fiercely dedicated to his family, friends and his job. When he did something, it was always with 100% effort. Losing was not in his vocabulary, showing us all that in the end, he had won. And we all won as well, because we were blessed to have Nate in our lives.
Nate was born on December 1, 1967, the fourth child of Charles and Jane (Pierce) Turon. He was predeceased by his parents, his mother-in-law Barbara Bass Kieley, his older brother John Joseph Turon and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and pets. Nate leaves behind his devoted wife, soulmate and best friend, Kris Kieley Turon and the true light of his life, his two amazing sons, Quinn Avery and Hudson Charles. He is also survived by sisters Laurie (Pete) Sudds and Kathy (Don) Kieffer; father-in-law Charles Kieley; brother-in-law Matthew Kieley; nieces Kira Sudds and Marghan Kieley; Nephews Scott Sudds, Kevin Sudds and Callahan Kieley; his very special aunt Elsie Turon, and many wonderful extended family and friends. He also leaves behind two beloved dogs, Scout and Brutus, with whom he shared a very special bond. Nate graduated from Greenville High School and Cazenovia College. He was a longtime, dedicated employee of BJs Wholesale Club for 22 years, serving as Meat Manager at BJs in Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 18 from 12-4 pm followed by a funeral on Monday, May 19 at 9 am at the funeral home. Details can be found at www.ajcunninghamfh.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Nate’s memory to St. Peter’s Hospice--who graciously and compassionately hosted Nathan and his many friends and family who visited with him in his final hours; memorial donations to GoFundMe.com /TuronStrong (Nathan Turon) for an educational fund for his sons, the American Cancer Society, the Columbia/Greene Humane Society, or any veterans’ charity will be appreciated. Special thanks to all those who have shown their love and support for Nate and his family over the past year. Your support has meant the world to Nate, Kris and the boys. Nathan's own father passed away on Father's Day when Nathan was only 6 months old. He can now have the time with his father in Heaven that he was unable to enjoy here on earth.
