I have known John all my life. He was a special man in our community. He took us on hayrides, square danced with us girls and made us feel important. He helped keep most of the older women's homes in Medusa in repairs. He loved his community. Peace is a wonderful thing. May his family know he was loved by more than just them.

Dear Karen, Janice and the whole family.
I am so sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful man; helping anyone he could. A good friend for as long as I can remember. When we were all involved with the Medusa fire company and the church - the youth fellowship - he was always there to guide and help in anyway he could. He was a "community" and "family" guy. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. He is at peace and still watching over all of you.

I will always remember a tall strong man with a booming voice, filled with care, concern and kindness for everyone. He loved his family and spoke of at least one of them whenever I saw him. He was truly, a great man.

Karen and Janice, I will always remember your Dad as a 'father figure'. He gave me an idea of what it was like to have a Dad during those times that I was a guest in your home. One favorite memory is the way he would spoon a little coffee over brown sugar on his pancakes. I've done it many times myself and always think of him. Sometimes he'd scold us when we deserved it and that was OK too. Just know that I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers in the difficult weeks ahead.

Ted Trevail posted a condolence
I can speak for the Trevail family (Al and Ruth Clickman Trevail) in our love for Uncle John and the fond memories of his visits to our November family reunions. We missed him very much during this past reunion.
As a child, I remember visiting Grandma and Grandpa Clickman in Medusa. It was fun to make our way over to Uncle John and Aunt Doris' farm to see what Uncle John was up to in the barn. We always felt welcome there, even if it may have interrupted Uncle John's routine!
I also have fond memories of harvesting firewood with Uncle John, Cousin John, and others in the woods behind the farm for Grandma and Grandpa Clickman's use. It was perhaps just 'simple' times; but, it was fulfilling in the act of helping others in need, which Uncle John did quite often. Uncle John was a great brother to our Mom, Ruth.
I look forward to that 'great reunion' in the sky someday!
God's blessing and comfort to Uncle John's family!
Ted

Janice, Karen and family,
I have known and looked up to your Dad since a kid. In high school I had the privilege of staying with your family for 3 summers to help in haying. Those times are some of the happiest days of my life. Almost every meal there was laughter at the table, usually started by John. Memories of the hay rides he gave each year to the kids, street dances where he loved to dance, trips to Caroga Lake. I could go on and on..
I hope to some day approach his work ethic and readiness to help and care for others. I’ll never forget him. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

John was an outstanding man and I feel honored to have known him. My husband, Tom Jenik and I met John when we bought a home in Medusa in 1985. It was always a pleasure to see John. He was kind, honest, always considerate and very good company. I will miss him and never forget him!
