Obituary of Barbara A. Soldner

Hannacroix, NY – Barbara A. Soldner (73) passed away at the St. Peter’s Hospice Inn on Aug. 10, 2013. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on Dec. 11, 1939 daughter of the late John & Lillian (Fox) Hendrick. A graduate of G.C.S. she had worked for Kemper Insurance. She was a say at home Mom until 1972 and was employed at the Greenville Elementary School until her retirement. She also enjoyed her gardens and kitties. Active in her Community she volunteered for the Greenville Food Pantry and received recognition from the Salvation Army and enjoyed teaching about the American Flag at the Greenville Elementary. She attended the Greenville-Norton Hill U.M. Church and was a member and Past President of the Greenville American Legion Post Auxiliary Unit 291. She was also a former member and Past Matron of the Maranatha Valley Chapter #38 O.E.S. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her late husband Kenneth Layman, brother John Hendrick and a stepson Michael Soldner. She is survived by her husband of five years George (Buddy) Soldner her daughters Edith Layman & Karen Faxon (Tim), son Chris Layman (Lisa); step children, George Soldner (Linda), Dolores Rogers, Donald Soldner (Maryanne) & James Soldner, grandchildren; Paul LaPlante (Cat) Jennifer LaPlante, Andrea Peters (Nate), Rebecca LaPlante. Jillian Faxon, Nick Faxon & Ryan Layman, a sister Gail LaPlante (Victor), her step grandchildren; Kevin Soldner, Stephen Soldner, Lorien Soldner (Bob), Maris Soldner, Vinny Soldner Danny Soldner, Lena Soldner Kristen Soldner & Dylan Rogers, great grandson Connor LaPlante and step – great granddaughter Rylynn Soldner also her nieces and nephews; Joanne LaPlante Evans (Bob) James LaPlante (Kim), John LaPlante (Lisa), Marie Garcia, Michael Layman (Amy), Darlene Layman & Raymond Layman, also her special friends Joanne Shay and Billy Casper. Funeral service will be Wed. Aug. 14, 10 AM at the A. J. Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville, NY. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tues. Aug. 13 from 4 to 8PM. The O.E.S. and the Greenville American Legion Aux. will conduct services at the funeral home on Tues. at 7PM and 7:30/pm respectively.
