When I was a young girl, my sister's then husband and she were friends of Moses, and in my little Cairo world, Moses was the first black man I'd ever met. And, like my daddy had taught me, no matter what color anyone is, it is the quality of their soul that matters. Moses's soul was of very high quality. He was a good, good man.

I met Moe when we worked together at Eden Park Nursing Home in Catskill, in the 70s. I remember how he used to dress up as Santa at Christmastime, and entertain the patients. He truly loved all people. His contribution to the world was unique and will be remembered.

I only knew Moses through other folks, including my wife. Without exception, every comment was a positive one, noting Moses' humility, selflessness, and eagerness to help others. He was a superb cook who felt eating was a way to a person's heart. To quote him, "It's all about the company." God bless you Moses and may your soul rest in peace in the arms of Jesus.

The first time I met you Moses you carried a suitcase. That suitcase was full of spices. You were a special talent in the kitchen with a big heart. So glad I got to know you for a short time.
