David was a classmate and a friend. I remember him as a good academic student in high school who was going to excel in whatever profession he was going to pursue. I was envious of his effortless ability to drop an effortless jump shot from outside the paint. He was a good amiable athlete in all high school sports that he played, particularly baseball and soccer. He excelled in the classroom as well and in present day terms he would be called a scholar athlete.
I remember cold dark winter nights when myself, Johnny and Dennis Degnan and sometimes Teddy Banta would walk out to the. Meier family farm from The village (about two miles) to play basketball in one of the barns on the family farm where a rudimentary hoop had been nailed to the barn wall and after a couple hours of congenial two on two games we would walk back home. Good times.
After high school as so often happens, we lost touch. i ran into David and Helen a couple times after they moved back to the family farm a few years ago. Everything comes full circle, one way or another and I hope they were happy here in David’s last years.
My sincere condolences to Helen and their family.

My sincere condolences to his family, especially Dawn who was my college roommate. I only know her family through her and I know she loved him dearly. Know that your pain is born of the amount of love he gave you. Praying for all of you.
