I am so saddened to find out about Matt’s passing. I worked with him in the Bronx before he transferred upstate. He was always a gentleman and an all around good guy. We kept in touch over the years and the hubby and I always looked forward to receiving his Christmas cards every year; keeping us informed about how he and the family were doing. We will miss him dearly and will keep Maria and his girls in our prayers!

It was a blessing to be able to share times with Matthew and his family. He had a warmness and calmness about him that made you feel comfortable and at ease, and if you were lucky to have him on your team, while playing games, you would win, he surprised himself he had the answers, if you shared a dinner with Matthew, well he loved food and serving him was always a pleasure. He would eat everything and loved it and asked questions about it and if you made it spicy he loved it even more Matthew be missed.

Matthew was one of the kindest, caring, men I have ever known. He was so cheerful and outgoing, yet he was a very sensitive man as well.
I remember there was a picnic with the whole family and it was my first time meeting everyone. I was pretty nervous! Matthew came right over to me, introduced himself, and proceeded to tell me who everyone was in the family. He made me feel so comfortable and welcome. I will never forget that kindness and all of his caring acts throughout the years.
He will be greatly missed.
Love,
Toni

My Uncle Matt was an inspiration for me. Always kind and gracious towards me. While he was on a visit to California, he settled a conflict with a game of 2 on 2 football. We won of course. He took me go karting, and one time we went to the New York Giants training camp, and so many other memories. I will miss you Uncle Matt. I love you.

Matt was a great friend and neighbor. Always upbeat, friendly, smiling and laughing. Every time we crossed paths, with all sincerity and honest concern, he would ask and want to know how our family was doing. But what I appreciated most about Matt was the Faith that was evident in his heart, mind and life. Every parting meeting and conversation with him ended with “God Bless”. The look in his eye said it all. He truly wanted God to Bless and watch over me and my family. Thank you Matt, for your witness and encouragement in Faith. The peace I received from our happenstance meetings of the past, gives me hope and peace now, knowing that you trusted in our Savior and are with Him now.
Maria, girls, family… my sincerest sympathy and prayers for all.

Matt, My Friend, I'm so deeply saddened, but see your smile and know that we're all going to be ok. The world is a better place because of you and all that you brought to it. I'll deeply miss our phone calls talking about the Jets, but know that when they win the Super Bowl you will have had a part in that. My deepest condolences to Maria and your girls. Love you Matt, John Wasielewski
