ASHLAND – Sherry Lynn Van Tassel, age 55, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at her home after a brief illness. Born on October 25, 1957 in Catskill, she is daughter of Virginia Stronczek Van Tassel and the late Gerald Van Tassel. Sherry has worked for many years at various restaurants on the Mountaintop, and for the last four years at the Chicken Run. In addition to her mother, Sherry is survived by her best friend and soulmate, Charles W. “Chuck” Kiley, Jr.; her brothers, Gary Van Tassel and Terry (Patty) Van Tassel; her nephew and godson, John Van Tassel; three nieces, Trista, Jessie and Jackie Van Tassel and their children, Schuyler, Kiara and Jamison; her aunt, Phyllis Hines; cousins, Jan, Jeffrey, Frankie and Robert; Chuck’s daughter, Dawn Kiley; his siblings, Bob & Sandy Kiley, Tim & Donna Kiley, Kathy & Tom Heisinger, Mary & Kip Kuehner, Kitty Kiley & Jim Ryan; several nieces and nephews. Keeping with Sherry’s wishes, she has been cremated. Calling hours will be Friday, November 23 from 3 to 7 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville.
