Of the many teachers in my life, Sherry is my most recent and the one I will remember most vividly. Sherry loved the land, and shared this love by walking me to the various spots on my land which she had discovered while mowing....a small cluster of tiny, bell like flowers, a patch of wild strawberries, rocks overgrown by moss with an unusual tint...all of which Sherry preserved, allowing them to follow the cycle of their short life... rather then riding a mower over such treasures with unseeing eyes. These past three seasons I have walked the land as I mowed, searching out the treasures Sherry had shared with me, discovering new ones....and thinking "I wonder what Sherry would think about this!! I "see" in a deeper way through the vision Sherry shared in the time she was here. This land is a quilt of treasure spots I have "mown around" and Sherry will still walk among these after we are all long gone. Next spring, I will plant one of the "treelings" I have been raising. This will be Sherry's tree...and I hope that she will visit this spot often.

I'm so sorry that I just heard of Sherry's passing. She was always such a beautiful young woman. I have many fond memories of us growing up even though we weren't in school together, our families had close associations.
May she have peace and joy forever.
Love,
Marla
