Obituary of Edward P. Barber

 

EARLTON – Edward Barber, 81, passed away on Saturday November 26, 2022 with his wife, his best friend Cathy at his side. He was born in Jersey City, NJ to the late Harry and Sabina Hopper Barber. Raised in Greenville, he was a graduate of Greenville Central School before attending NYU Culinary and receiving an associate’s degree. Ed was Honorably Discharged from the Army in 1968. On December 8, 1978, Ed married Catherine Brennan, and together they owned and operated Red’s Restaurant in Coxsackie for 29 years. He was past chairman of the Greene County Republican Committee and was a former supervisor for the town of New Baltimore. Ed enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra and was a fan of the NY Yankees.

           

Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine Barber; and by his niece, Pam Dolacky, whose love and devotion to Ed was never ending.

 

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday November 29th from 5 to 7pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday November 30th at 10am at St. John the Baptist Church, 4987 State Route 81, Greenville, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Coxsackie.
