As a teenager, "Zan" gave me my first meaningful work experience and he taught me a lot about work ethic and treating the customer right...He was a positive influence in my life as well as countless other young people who listed Bryants as one of their first places of employment...I was sad to see that he passed away and I send condolences to all his family!! Mike (Mickey as I was known back then)

I was saddened to hear of Zan's passing and send condolences to the entire Bryant Family. I had the good fortune to work for Zan and Garth for almost eight years during high school and college, and learned so much from both of them. Zan's work ethic, business acumen, commitment to the community and putting the 'customer first' were lessons learned that served me well. I will be forever grateful for his positive influence.

Sincere condolences to the Bryant family. Zan was a bright light in the Greenville community and will be remembered as such. He always had a smile for everyone. Fifty years ago we lived on North Road in Norton Hill across from Zans' house. One day Zan and my father (Bill Reinecke, Jr.) Were having coffee in our kitchen and discussing hunting and guns when my father brought out a fully chromed M-1 carbine. Zans' reaction was immediate. He had to have that rifle as it was the same type he carried as a Marine in the Korean War. Was he ever happy when Dad sold it to him. Once a Marine, always a Marine. God Bless.

I don’t think there was a man I admired more than Zan, and I couldn’t have asked for a more loving and involved grandfather for my daughter. “Poppop” meant so much to her, and she to him. Rest well, you are loved always and we will see you again

He represented so much to so many people in this area. From the employees who worked at Byrant's to those in the community who he represented in so many ways. Loved meeting up with his buddies at The Brasserie and enjoying a drink and exchanging stories about the "good old days" and there were many. Always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. Deepest sympathy to his family who have lost their shining star. May his memory be a blessing to you and bring you comfort knowing he is now at peace.

I loved sitting and listening to Zan and my dad (Gene Morrison) reminiscing about the crazy things they did growing up! They would spend hours talking about school, favorite teachers, friends and family. It was fun watching the two of them laughing like little kids while remembering their youthful antics! Zan will be sorely missed. Love to Alice and family.

I was sorry to read about Zan’s passing. I remember him at Bryant‘s grocery store. When I lived in Surprise New York, I would see Zan and Alice walking around the country block hand-in-hand almost every day. Sorry for your loss.

Zan was a man would helped people even without their knowledge.
Our community has lost a great friend.
I recall Zan taking John to Albany Airport early one morning to retrieve his plane after
being unable to fly into any other airport due to in coming bad weather.
John had to leave the plane for several days until the weather cleared.
Zan offered ,out of the blue, to take him...it was so appreciated.
He was always there to offer assistance and advice to others trying to start or run a business.
He was a remarkable man and a friend to all. He will be missed.

We lost a friend this. Walt and I were lucky to call Zan Bryant our friend for over 50 years. We had lots of good times with him and Alice. I have said for a long time that Zan was one of my favorite people. He was a good person. He was someone who would be there if you needed him. We will never forget him singing his crazy Marine songs to our son Tyson when he was a baby and years later getting us to sing in a restaurant and getting everyone in the restaurant to join in. He loved to have a good time and to share the good times with his friends. Zan, like his father was a community minded person. He did so much for so many of the people of Greenville and Greene County. Thanks for the memories, Zan. We will miss you.
