I fondly remember Bob as a speaker at the Hudson Rotary Club as well as a Rotarian who would come to our club for make-up meetings. Bob was obviously very bright with a magnificent sense of humor and hardy laugh. He will not be forgotten. My condolences to all of his family and friends.

Bob Heisinger had a busy life, including Realtor, Connecticut State Trooper, and, where I met him, Greene County Coroner. The office of Coroner is an ancient one, stretching back to 12th century England in the reign of King Richard, called Lionheart. It was the first office in our common law to be based on the principle that every individual is worthy of official notice. Bob embodied that principle and tradition. His kindness with the bereaved and his interest in forensic science made him the ideal coroner, who is, by tradition, a citizen chosen for his probity and uprightness.

I got to know Bob 25 years ago as a young NY State Trooper assigned to Greene County. His compassion with grieving families and his professionalism as a Coroner endeared him to all of us in law enforcement. I will miss his good nature, his bad jokes, the twinkle in his eye, and the way he would light up talking about the love of his life, Mary. He was a very good man who will be missed by all who knew him. To Mary and the rest of Bob's family, on behalf of all the men and women of the State Police here in Greene County, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
