Marlene was a great support and welcomed us as the young pastor and wife of the Westerlo Reformed Church in 1970-75. She organzied vacation Bible school and was a ready volunteer to help on all projects. She loved the Lord and served Him as long as she could. She finished well. "Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord."

My condolences to the Boomhower Family. I find this Irish Prayer helped me as I hope it does help heal the sorrows.
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be.So He put His arms around you and whispered “come to me. With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest.God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.#374 Irish funeral prayer

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mrs. Boomhower and her family. I have much respect for Mrs. Boomhower as she was the organist of my childhood church and grandmother to my best friend. May we all be reminded of her witness in life as a child of Jesus Christ. She certainly is in a better place with no pain. Let us remember her legacy that she has left to the new generation that molds our hearts. One of love, commitment and perseverance.
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?
John 11:25-26

Marlene adopted me as if she were a second mother many years ago when I had first moved to the area and knew very few people. She had a lot of love and humor to share and I will miss her dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I was so sorry to hear of Marlene's passing. I came to know her through our work on the Westerlo Planning Board and admired her dedication and interest in many activities in the Town. She obviously cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbors, and never hesitated to speak up for what was right. It was a privilege to know her.
