Alberta J. Vedder, (91) of Greenville, NY went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 30, 2010. She was born in the Bronx on July 23, 1919 daughter of the late Albert & Martha (Vaid) Werner. A communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Greenville, NY she was formerly active in the Rosary Altar Society and had also taught catechism in religious education classes. She loved to read and bake for her family and crocheting. Was an avid fan of "Days of our Lives" and a member of the "Lunch Bunch". A lover of children she was a foster parent for 14 children. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Vedder, Sr., a son Frank Vedder, Jr., two grandchildren, William Vedder & Joseph Fonzo & three sisters; Martha Peters, Catherine O'Neill & Louise Brohm. Surviving are three sons; Albert (Michelle), Gerald (Rachel) & Frederick (Kathy) a daughter Mary Ann Vedder, daughter-in-law Heidi Vedder, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a sister Lillian Schiesser & nieces & nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. John the Baptist Church on Mon. Jan. 3 Friends called at the Cunningham Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 to 7PM. Interment was in the Greenville Cemetery.
