Obituary of Roberta E. Jennings

CATSKILL – Roberta E. Roe Jennings, 97, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 in The Pines at Catskill Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born in Greenville on June 21, 1921, daughter of the late Charles and Elsie Olmstead Roe. Roberta graduated from Greenville Academy. She worked for many years as a waitress and hostess at the former Skyline Restaurant, the former Schrafft's in Albany, and at VinceAnna's Restaurant in South Westerlo. Roberta attended Christ Episcopal Church in Greenville. She was known for her love of children, music, animals, and friends. She married Edward McAneny in 1938, and together they had one son, Richard McAneny. She later married John Jennings in 1945, and together they had four children, Sandra Gottehrer, the late Thomas Jennings, Susan Jennings, and John Jennings. Roberta is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Elouise Roe and Marie Jennings. Calling hours will be Monday, January 14th from 6 to 8 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral will be Tuesday, January 15th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Greenville Cemetery.
