Obituary of Virginia D. Handel
CORNWALLVILLE - Virginia D. "Ginger" Handel, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010 at The Pines of Catskill after a long illness. Born in Queens on July 11, 1937, she was daughter of the late Mario and Theresa Pressel Bazzanella. Ginger began her career on Wall Street, and moved to Cornwallville 47 years ago. She and her husband, Robert M. Handel, started Tanglewood Ranch, Super Sonic Speedway, Blackthorne Resort, and purchased the Weldon House.
Ginger is survived by her husband, Robert M. Handel; two sons, Roy (Patty) Handel and Dale (Jennifer) Handel; seven grandchildren, Robert, Nikole, Austin, Morgan, Ethan, Connor and Wyatt; one brother, Richard (Terri) Bazzanella; one aunt, Margaret Pressel; her sister-in-law, Sieglinde (Clemens) Braun; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be Friday, Nov. 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, followed by a memorial service.
