Obituary of Diane Barger

GREENVILLE – Diane "Dusty" Barger, 76, passed away on Thursday August 23, 2018 at Community Hospice at St. Peter's Hospital. She was born on March 4, 1942 in Albany to the late Kenneth and Ruth Ostrander VanAlstyne. After graduating from high school when she was 16 years old, Diane worked training horses in the Selkirk area. She then became a Payroll and Accounts Payable Clerk for Spancrete Northeast in South Bethlehem, where she retired from after 37 years. Diane always put others before herself and was always taking care of everyone. She enjoyed showing and training horses, listening to country music, and line dancing, having learned over 100 line dances. She was also an avid Yankee and NASCAR fan. Diane is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Ralph W. Barger; her son, James K. (Jacqueline) Donnelly; her step-children, Robert W. (Anita) Barger, Julianne B. (Carl) Smith, and Daphane (Philip, Jr.) Pearson; her six grandchildren; her several great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ollie (Don) McNessor and Kenneth VanAlstyne; and many nieces and nephews. As per her wishes, all services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Greenville Rescue Squad, PO Box 332, Greenville, NY 12083 or to the Community Hospice at St. Peter's Hospital, 310 S.
