Obituary of Edna B. Irving

CONESVILLE – Edna B. Irving, 87, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in Tucson, Arizona.  Born in Peekskill on August 26, 1930, she was daughter of the late Charles and Natalie See Delamater.  Edna graduated from Peekskill High School and attended business school there, working in Woolworth’s to pay her tuition.  She was employed as principal secretary at Copper Beach Middle School in Shrub Oak, NY, retiring in 1986.  Edna and her husband moved to Conesville in 1986.  She was a member of the Conesville Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Conesville Senior Citizens where she served as the first President of the group, and was a former member of the Conesville United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Lake Mohegan Ladies Auxiliary.

          Edna is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ralph E. “Dewey” Irving, Jr.; children, Ralph C. Irving, Sharon Lee Irving, and Hugh C. Irving; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.  She was predeceased by her only sister, Natalie Hallock.

          Calling hours will be Monday, July 16th from 6 until 9 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville.  The funeral will be Tuesday, July 17th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by refreshments at the Conesville Firehouse.  Burial will be Wednesday, July 18th at 10:30 a.m. in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Conesville Volunteer Fire Company will be appreciated.  Condolences may be posted at ajcunninghamfh.com.
