Obituary of Ann Jean Buckley

GREENVILLE – Ann Jean Buckley (nee McGloin), 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 12, 2018. She was born in Co. Fermanagh, Ireland on August 4, 1922 to the late Joseph and Margaret McGuire McGloin. She emigrated from Ireland on June 5, 1948 and arrived in N.Y.C. on June 11, 1948. She married the love of her life "Jerry" on June 17, 1950. Together they owned and operated the Killarney House in East Durham. She was a member of the LAOH Division 32 Greene County and a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Knock Shrine in East Durham. Ann was a phenomenal cook and a lover of animals, having rescued many over the years. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jeremiah "Jerry" Buckley on April 5, 1999; and by her siblings, Agnes Nash, Tessie Gilmore O'Brien, and Patrick, Willie, and John McGloin. Ann is the beloved mother of Patricia McGrath (late Steve), Margaret Vormittag (John), Teresa Byrne (late John), Jeremiah Buckley, and the late Jeanne Mescall (John); cherished grandmother of Stephen and Colleen McGrath, Shannon Byrne Pak, and Brittany, Christopher, and Sean Mescall; adored GG of Keri and Declan Pak; beloved godmother of Ann Marie Failla; and dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Sunday June 17th from 2 to 4pm and 6to 8pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. A Funeral Mass with be held on Monday June 18th at 11am at Our Lady of Knock Shrine, 2052 State Route 145, East Durham, followed by burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Catskill.
