Obituary of Ruth O. Wiltsie

CLIMAX – Ruth O. Wiltsie, 100, passed away on Wednesday May 23, 2018 at The Pines in Catskill. She was born on March 6, 1918 in Sunside, Cornwallville to the late John and Ethel Johnson Olmsted. Ruth was a homemaker and owned Lake Wiltwyck Cottages in Climax. She was a member of the Grapeville Baptist Church. Ruth enjoyed sewing and needlework, having made blankets, quilts, and doilies. She also enjoyed knitting, painting, and playing the organ. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Manley S. Wiltsie, her daughter, Norma Cross, and her siblings, John and Donald Olmsted and Emily Rossa. Ruth is survived by her daughter, June (George) Sibbert; her grandchildren, Wendy (Jody) Drane, Todd (Dianna) Sibbert, Jorge Sibbert, Kevin Cross, Daryl Cross; her great-grandchild, Chase Cross; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 30th from 5 to 7pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. A funeral service will be held on Thursday May 31st at 11am at the funeral home, followed by burial in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery in New Baltimore.
