Obituary of Jordan D. Hull

DURHAM - Jordan D. Hull, 29, passed away suddenly Wednesday, October 20, 2010, in an accident on Cunningham Road in the Town of Durham. Born in Catskill on May 24, 1981, he was a son of Frank and Sherry Decker Hull of Durham. Jordan was the 3rd of 4 sons of the 7th generation at the Hull Family Farm Homestead. Jordan, always the center of attention, was a larger than life kind of guy. He was a big, tall, ball of outrageous extremes soaking in every moment of joy, fun and excitement life had to offer. Jordan definitely had a fervent love of life but his greatest passion was showing others a "good time" at the family farm which he was so proud to be a part of and loved so dearly. Whether it was farm vacation visitors or hunting guests Jordan was not happy until they were happy. Jordan will not only be missed by friends and family but by the thousands of guests he entertained at the Family Farm Vacation. Jordan was especially loved by the kids at the farm vacation. He loved to take them fishing and help catch their first fish ever, build a big bonfire that lit up the starry night sky, toast marshmallows for s'mores and show them how to shoot trap. Jordan loved singing karaoke and his favorite song was "Friends in Low Places" by Garth Brooks. He would pick up a microphone every chance it was offered. Jordan will not only be remembered for his passions but his talents. Jordan was exceptional at handing large equipment and could turn a tractor on a dime. He was a great salesman by nature and helped promote many agritourism businesses and the All Natural Meats at Hull-O Farms. He was unsurpassed as a shotgun instructor and loved showing off his trick shooting and marksmanship talents. In his 13 year career as main dog handler Jordan helped sportsmen flush up over 20,000 pheasants with his trusty dog Cocoa. Jordan would introduce himself as "Big Country" but it was his big heart that truly defined his character. He will be loved, missed, and remembered by his parents and three brothers, Jason, Jacob and Jared. We will always remember his advice to "Git-R-Done" Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 27 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville.
