To the family of Dorothy Hostash,
I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your sister, aunt and great-aunt. I worked with Dottie for many years at the VA Medical Center. She was always a very kind and hard working person. While in the ICU, she used to bring us the wonderful farm fresh eggs. Whenever there was some down time; Dottie would be seen reading a book. I'm sure you have so many wonderful memories of her. My deepest sympathy to your family.

Dorothy Ann was of tremendous help to me as I researched the life of Dr. Anna Perkins for a forthcoming biography. We spoke by phone dozens of times, she arranged many interviews, and we finally met in person last December at St. Peter's Hospital. Although she read and commented on the draft manuscript, I am sorry that she will not see the volume in print. Dorothy Ann will be remembered as a great Rensselaervillian.

I can still hear her laughing at the parties your Mom and Dad had at the house every summer. Memories that can never be erased. May she rest in peace and I bet your Mom is telling her a thing or two right now!
