Obituary of Harriett E. Rasmussen
GREENVILLE - A memorial service for Harriett A. Rasmussen, who passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010, will be conducted on Saturday, November 13, at 11 a.m., at the United Methodist Church of Greenville & Norton Hill. All are invited to attend. Light a candle at ajcunninghamfh.com.
Harriett A. Rasmussen (85) of Greenville, NY passed away at Kaaterskill Care in Catskill, NY on Oct. 18, 2010. She was born in Cairo, NY daughter of the late C. Leslie & Estella (Griffin) Abrams. She graduated from Cairo Central School Class of 1942 and then attended Albany State Teachers College untill 1946. She married Cassius S. Rasmussen in 1951 and moved to Greenville in 1954. Harriett was a very active member of the Greenville Historical Society, Historian of the Greenville-Norton Hill U.M. Church, a member of the Greenville-Norton Hill U.M. Church and the Ontiora Chapter of the NYS Daughters of the American Revolution. In recognition of her devoted time to the local history of Greenville and Greenville's local families the Greenville Local History Group dedicated the 2010 Calendar to her.
Harriett is survived by her two sons; Brian L. Rassmussen of Greenville, NY, Barry S. Rasmussen of East Hartford, Ct., a sister Betty Gustavson of Catskill, NY, a brother Charles L. Abrams of Rock Hill, NC a sister-in-law Martha Rasmussen of South Cairo, NY, 8 nieces, a nephew and several cousins. Her husband C. S. Rasmussen predeceased her in 1999.
