We met in Kindergarten and shared a friendship that spanned 66 years.
I can't recall that we were ever mad at each other - not one time.
When I think of Al, these traits come to mind: Loving and dedicated husband to Carole, proud and supportive father to Kevin, gifted athlete, craftsman, marksman, committed employee and boss, community leader, soldier, patriot and true friend.
Al possessed the sweetest and most powerful swing as he launched those long drives over the left field fence! His encyclopedic memory was on display as he and beloved Coach MacTavish swapped stories of big game heroics in our later years.
His wonderful sense of humor was only exceeded by his sense of duty to family, friends and community. His was a life well lived. I'm proud to have been his friend. I will miss him greatly.

I am so saddened by the loss of my GCS classmate and friend. We were fortunate enough to stay in touch and see each other a couple times a year at mini class reunions and I am grateful for the memory of great times. My memories of Al go way back to our youth and I will always remember him for his kindness, his friendship, his sense of humor and his honorable service to our country and his community. My heartfelt condolences to Carol and Kevin. I will miss him.

It was truelly a pleaseure working with Al on the construction of the Just-A-Buck stores. Over the years he became more than just a business associate, he became my friend. I am truelly sad for his family and that I couldn’t see him one last time but I am greatful for all the memories we had together. Whether it was on the job site going over a set of prints or laughing it up at the bar back at the hotel, he was genuinely good man to be around. Al, thank you for showing me that microwaved pepperoni could be so good. I’ll miss you buddy.

A gentle man has left our midst. I remember stories of when Al, my Dad and my brother, Robert, riding to and from work together years ago! And before that , Al and Robert working at Hunter Mtn. parking cars. Lots of laughs and memories. Al always had time to greet you and stop to chat. My sympathy and prayers lifted as you face your loss .

Our prayers are with Carole and family for this great loss for us all. Al was a veteran's veteran, always super supportive and patriotic. He was a man you could rely on without question, trustworthy, and dedicated. He loved the Lord and proved it by loving people and those around him, family, friends, and strangers. God bless him and keep him forever.
