Obituary of Doris V. Wiseman

Doris V. Wiseman passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at her son's home in Kinderhook. She was born on June 15,1931 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Alden and Ruth Hummel Cusic. Doris worked for NYS Department of Encon for 20 years as secretary to the wildlife biologist at Five Rivers. She then went on to earn her AAS in psychology at CGCC. She grew up in Brooklyn and moved her family to Rensselaerville in 1966. Ten years ago, Doris moved to Rhinebeck, NY. Doris loved her family and a long list of lovable mutts from Thunder to Jo-Jo. She was artistic and creative. Her hobbies included sketching, especially fashions, drawing, painting, figuring out all kinds of puzzles and how things worked. She loved to ice skate. Doris will be remembered as a generous person. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, George A. Wiseman Sr., and her siblings, Bud Cusic, Connie Cusic, Ronnie Cusic, Ruth McNally, Herbie Cusic, and Carole Jones. Doris is survived by her sons, George A. (Cyndi) Wiseman Jr., and Robert A. (Jean) Wiseman; her daughter Maryanne W, (Mark) Overbaugh; her grandsons, Matthew (Lindsay), Michael (Maureen) and Mark Wiseman and Jeremiah(Marianna) Overbaugh; her great-grandchildren, Evan and Ellie Wiseman; her nephews, Ed and James Jones and Kevin McNally; and her niece Dodie McNally. Calling hours will be held on Saturday November 25, 2017 from 11am to 1pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, followed by a funeral service at 1pm. Cremation will follow and burial of her ashes will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society, 111 Humane Society Rd. Hudson, NY 12534.
