Obituary of Clyde C. Furman

CLARKSVILLE – Clyde C. Furman, 85, passed away on Tuesday July 25, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital. He was born on August 7, 1931 in Westerlo to the late Charles and Hazel Weidman Furman. He was raised on West Mountain and went to school in Rensselaerville, where he met his wife-to-be. They lived in New Salem before settling and raising a family in Clarksville. Clyde worked as a carpenter and retired as a foreman at Klersy Building Corp. in Delmar. He also worked as a maintenance man and a snowplow driver. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, working to keep it immaculate. When he was younger, he spent eight years in the National Guard and enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Janet M. Tanner Furman on February 16, 2011.
 Clyde is survived by his children, Kenneth (Deborah) Furman, Wendy Furman, Charles “Chuck” (Amy Ludik) Furman, and Brenda (James) Welter; his grandchildren, Danielle Antonelli, Ryan Sweeney, Emma Furman, Charles “Chaz” Furman, Annie Furman; his great-grandchildren, Taylor and Bella Antonelli; his brother, Maver Duell of Texas; and his feline companion, Scarlet.
 Calling hours will be held on Sunday July 30, from 3 to 6pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. A funeral service will be held on Monday July 31st at 9am at the funeral home, followed by burial in Memory Gardens in Colonie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Onesquethaw Volunteer Ambulance, PO Box E, Clarksville, NY 12041. Condolences can be posted at ajcunninghamfh.com.
