Obituary of Paul L. Bear

GREENVILLE – Paul L. Bear, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 27, 1924 in Durham to the late Burdette and Edith Story Bear. He was raised in Greenville and worked on the family farm, Bear's Farm, for his entire life. He also worked for the Town of Greenville and drove a school bus for Greenville Central School. Paul was an honorary life member of the Freehold Volunteer Fire Company. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, Orloff (Jeanne) Bear, Sr. and Wilton (Helen) Bear, Sr. Paul is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Towner Bear; his children, Lynda (Brian) Lamont and Paul Leroy (Maryann) Bear; his grandchildren, Nathaniel Murphy, Danielle Conway, and Laura, Kimberly, Kristen, and Paul Jr. Bear; his four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held on Saturday July 8, from 10 to 11am at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, with a funeral service at 11am, followed by burial in Greenville Cemetery.
