Obituary of Elizabeth Alexandra Rosen

MEDWAY – Elizabeth "Zibbie" Alexandra Rosen, 73, died suddenly on Thursday May 4, 2017 at Albany Medical Center. She was born on February 27, 1944 at Flowers 5th Ave Hospital in Manhattan, NY to the late Richard and Lea Cornish. Elizabeth grew up in Freeport, Long Island with her sister, the late Joan Troisi. She graduated from Freeport High School and then graduated from the Traphagen Art Institute. Elizabeth then met her husband Gary Rosen and was his loving wife for 54 years. In 1972, they moved upstate to Medway, NY and raised their children, sons, Richard and Eric Rosen and daughter, Krista Rosen. She is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren, Olivia, Austin, Ethan, Dylan, Nicholas, and Dean. Elizabeth was retired after working for the Greenville School District for 27 years. Calling hours will be held on Sunday May 7, 2017 from 2 to 5pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, NY 12083 followed by a service at 5pm. She is then to be privately cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Medway Grapeville Fire Company, EMT Unit, PO Box 89, Climax, NY 12042.
