Obituary of Celine B. Prior

GREENVILLE – Celine B. Prior, 83, passed away on Sunday night, January 1, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in County Donegal, Ireland on December 16, 1933, she was daughter of the late John and Kathleen McGrory McGrath. Celine came to America in 1953. She lived in Chicago for a year, before moving east to New York and New Jersey. The family had a summer home in Preston Hollow, and lived in South Westerlo for a time, before moving to Greenville in 1994. Celine was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Greenville. She is survived by her devoted husband, James Prior; children, Maureen Buturla, Kenneth Prior, and Brian Prior; five grandchildren; siblings, Theresa Boyle and Seamus McGrath; many other relatives in Ireland and England. Following cremation, private burial will be in New Jersey. A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. John the Baptist Church in Greenville in the near future, at a time to be announced.
