Obituary of Mary Frances Feeney

CAIRO - Mary Frances "Fran" Feeney, age 79, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson after a long illness. Born in Manhattan on Jan. 16, 1933, she was daughter of the late James and Mary Lavery McHugh. Fran was a longtime resident of Elmhurst, Queens. She was retired from the Board of Education, Pupil Transportation Services in Long Island City. Survivors include her children, Mary Jeanne Cashell (Vincent), Debbie Doohan (P.J.), Karen Cashell (late Joseph) and Sean Feeney (Mary); grandchildren, Brian Doohan, Tara Thompson, Tracey Green, Kelly Henry, Deirdre Doohan, John Cashell, Christine Gormally, Nina Cashell, Sean, Erin, Katie, Brendan and Kevin Feeney; great-grandchildren, Connor & Brigid Green, Aileen & Fiona Henry; sister-in-law, Kay Feeney Schwab (George); nieces, nephews, cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, John J. Feeney; grand-daughter, Mairead Feeney; brothers, James and Packie McHugh. The funeral will be Monday at 9:15 a.m. from A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, NY 12083, then to Our Lady of Knock Shrine, 2052 SR 145, East Durham, NY 12423, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Catskill. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
