Obituary of Marian Patricia Goode

GREENVILLE – Marian Patricia "Pat" Goode, 71, passed away Monday evening, September 12, 2016 in the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Brooklyn on October 19, 1944, she was daughter of the late Albert F. and Marion Feeney Hermann, and wife of the late James "Jimmy" Goode, Sr., who died February 18, 2015. Pat and her family moved to Greenville in 1977. She owned Pat's Jeans & Things, and was co-owner, with her husband, of Highpoint Furniture Gallery in Greenville. Pat's main focus in her life was being a mom. She also enjoyed dancing with her husband, playing cards with friends, and spending time at the family's second home in Puerto Rico. Pat was a communicant of Our Lady of Knock Shrine in East Durham, and a member of the Greene County Women's League, Auxiliary of Knights of Columbus Council 6439, Auxiliary of Greenville American Legion Unit 291, Ladies AOH of Greene County, and the Greenville Irish-American Club. Pat is survived by her children, Patricia Dawn (Tony), Denise Maureen, James Jr. (Nora), Timothy Patrick (Renee), and Kristin Marie (Daniel); seven grandchildren, Jessica, Danielle, David, Taylor, Grace, Leia, and Areanna; two sisters, Sheila Marie D'Agostino and Katherine Anne Timms; her "sister of the heart", Barbara Licata; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Knock Shrine, 2052 State Route 145, East Durham, followed by cremation.
