Obituary of Perry M. Moak
Perry M. Moak passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. He was born at Hickory Hill in Rensselaerville, NY September 26, 1931 to Charles (Ted) Moak and Viola (Lobdell) Moak and attended Greenville Central School. He lived most of his life in Rensselaerville as well as East Berne while his children were growing up. Perry married Ellen A. Schenk on November 29, 1952 and they spent 63 years together. They were the proud parents of three children: Susan Britton (Donald), Linda McCormick (Sean) and Perry J Moak all of Rensselaerville. He is survived by his wife and children, 7 grandchildren: Lisa, Donny, Tara, Colleen, Kyle, Ashley and Morgan as well as 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Loring Moak (Marion), sister Shirley Kelly (William) and many nieces and nephews.
Perry was employed by several trucking companies including Red Star Express for 17 years. He also served on the Albany County Sheriff's Patrol. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. Perry raced cars on the ice using #70 and was known to his friends as "Moak". He served as "head mechanic" for his son while following his motorcycle racing circuit.
Perry was an active member of the Rensselaerville Volunteer Fire Co. having served as Asst. Chief, a member of the Board of Trustees and Captain of the Fire Police. He was a charter member of Helderberg Riders Motorcycle Club, Basic Valley Sportsmens Club, AR Sportsmens Club, and a member of Northeast Snowmobile Riders and Teamster Local #294 where he was a member of the Retiree Club.
Perry was a loving and gentle soul that could be counted on to do a job and do it well. He was always ready to help others in any way he could. He will be sorely missed by his loving family and many friends.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 10 from 4-8 pm at Cunningham Funeral Home, Rt. 81, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 11 at 11 am at St. John the Baptist Church, Rt. 81, Greenville. Burial will follow in the Rensselaerville Cemetery.
