Obituary of Allyson P. Benjamin

Earlton- Allyson Benjamin, 43, of Earlton, passed away on July 8th, 2010, at St Peter's Hospice Inn. She displayed true courage and bravery in her seven year battle against Ovarian Cancer. Allyson was born in Albany, the daughter of Erma Campbell. She married her beloved husband Harvey Benjamin and together they had one daughter, Camryn, who was Allyson's pride and joy. Allyson graduated from Greenville High School and went on to get a degree from SUNY Albany. Allyson lived in New York City for five years and then returned back to Earlton. She then went on to work for the Greenville Central School district where she touched the lives of hundreds of students and faculty. Allyson loved all animals and will be greatly missed by her dog, Templeton and her cat, Ariza. Allyson enjoyed sports, particularly Yankees baseball and NASCAR. She also enjoyed country music and reading books. Allyson always looked forward to spending time with her family. She is survived by husband, Harvey Benjamin, daughter, Camryn Benjamin, sister, Stephanie Witmer, brother, Justin Pettit and wife Janet, loving niece, Skylar, and nephew, Kaleb, mother-in-law, Dora Benjamin, sister-in-law, Sarah Rothstein, brothers-in-law, Michael and Morris Benjamin and a number of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Aunt Helen and Uncle Stan Ingalls, Aunt Rita and Uncle John Flach, Aunt Dawn and Uncle Bill Frees, Aunt Loretta and George Langdon and numerous cousins. Allyson wanted to thank, Wendy Ward, Wendy Seslowsky and Patty McAneny for their loyal friendship and unconditional support. An Allyson Benjamin Celebration Day has been planned for Saturday, August 7th at 2:00pm at Halsted Lake, 325 Medway-Earlton Road in Earlton. In lieu of flowers, Allyson established the Camryn Benjamin Scholarship Fund, P O Box 232, Earlton, NY 12058. Allyson was indeed a wonder woman, a role model to children, as well as a loyal and trusted friend to many. Her inspiration and kindness will be missed by all.
