Obituary of Arlington Lee
Arlington "Link" Lee, born July 21, 1932, passed from this life unexpectedly at his Berne, NY home in the early hours of June 14, 2016. He leaves behind his loving wife, Dorothy (Lawyer) Lee. Wed in Round Lake, NY, Dorothy and Link celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Arlington is predeceased by his parents, Mae Ingraham and Oscar Lee; four sisters, Frances Metcalf, Esther Porter, Mary Willsey, and Gladys Cook; and three brothers, Dan Lee, John Lee, and Bennie Lee.
Arlington is survived by his sister, Rita Vankuren; his brother, Kenneth Lee (Charlene); his son, Randy Lee (Rose); his daughter, Janice Hruban; his grandchildren, Theresa Lee Tittemore (Jamie), Jessica Lee Malphrus (Chris), Joseph Hruban, Jr., Jason Hruban (Melissa), and Jillian Hruban; his great-grandchildren, Ryan Hauger (Meghan), Devin Tittemore, Larissa Malphrus, Janessa Malphrus, Damien Tittemore, Maci Hruban, Madden Hruban, Jason Hruban, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
Arlington retired from the Albany County Highway Department, Berne, NY in 1992 after 38 years of service, starting at the County as a laborer and working his way to foreman. Even after his retirement he worked tirelessly at home; he was never at ease without a task or purpose to keep himself occupied outside.
Arlington enjoyed playing in a dart league at the old Statler House among other places. He enjoyed dining at Denny's and the Western Diner. He was a "Ford Man" and enjoyed his motorcycles and snowmobiles, but nothing made him as happy as the time he spent with those he loved.
Arlington was a loving and devoted husband and father, and he held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Link's wonderful smile, his dry and witty humor, and his mannerisms that were sure to make people laugh will all be greatly missed.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 11 am to 1 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Westerlo Rural Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, in honor of his great-grandson Damien, memorial donations may be made to: Pediatric Cardiac Care Fund, Albany Medical Center Foundation, Mail Code 119, 43 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.
