DURHAM - Archie P. Lyon, 63, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. He was born in Albany on February 24, 1947, son of the late Archie P. and Eva Betters Lyon. Archie lived in Albany and Saranac Lake, and in Durham for over 30 years. He worked for 25 years as a carpenter out of Union Local 370, then as a driver for Coxsackie Transport before retiring on disability. Archie was a fan of dirt track racing. Archie is survived by his wife, Ruth E. Townsend Lyon; sons, James P., Daniel W. (Katrina) and Charles J. (Jennifer) Lyon; step-daughters, Lisa Knott (Timothy), Jennifer Bier (Michael Sr.), Heather Bier (Michael Jr.) and Sarah Bacucci (David); grandchildren, Thomas, Cameran, Nicole, Andrew and Brezney Lyon, Jonathan Alesio, Lincoln and Dylan Knott, Ashley and Ajia Herring, Kerry and Billy Willenbucher, Brianna and Nicholas Bier, Leanne Bryan, Nicholas and Alexis Bacucci; sisters, Jackie (Stanley) Stefanik, Georgia Figel, Eva-Emmy (Ernie) Reichert and Linda (Joe) Vecchio; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Archie was predeceased by his wife, Carol E. Brink Lyon on June 9, 1986, and his brother, James Lyon. Calling hours will be Saturday, July 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. at A.J.
