Obituary of Clara M. Castle

CONESVILLE – Clara M. Castle, 74, passed away on Monday May 23, 2016 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital. She was born on July 19, 1941 at home in Conesville to the late Claude and Dora Mead Castle. She was a lifelong resident of Conesville, and graduated from Gilboa-Conesville High School. Clara worked as a licensed insurance broker for many different insurance agencies, including Hubbard Insurance Agency in Grand Gorge. She was a member of the Hudson Valley Insurance Professionals and served as past president. Clara loved to crochet and was known for her crocheted blankets. She loved her plants and her gardens, especially her raspberry bushes. She enjoyed baking, taking pleasure in baking many Christmas cookies. She also loved her cat. In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by her siblings, Roy Castle and Mildred Adams. Clara is survived by her siblings, Gene (Evelyn) Castle of North Blenheim, Leonard (Donna) Castle of Schoharie, Kenneth (Teresa) Castle of Conesville, and Dale Castle of Oneonta; her sister-in-law, Theresa Castle of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday May 26th from 4 to 7pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, NY 12083. A funeral service will be held Friday May 27th at 11am at the funeral home, followed by burial in the Manorkill Rural Cemetery.
