She attended Long Island Ag & Tech where she met Walter J. Raskopf, Jr. They were married September 24, 1950 and raised six children. She enjoyed her work with children as a teacher's aide at Hamilton Avenue School and her volunteer work as a Brownie leader and a religious education instructor (St. Stephen's Parish, Warwick, NY). She loved sharing her faith and creativity with children. She wrote the church bulletin newsletter and assisted in decorating the church for holidays for many years. She loved gardening, bird watching, drawing, painting, and spending time with her writing club friends. She loved nothing more than her family – her six children, 19 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Marguerite was predeceased by her sister Verna Shrout, her husband Walter, and her granddaughter Catherine Adele Dodd. She is survived by her sister Phyllis Capriola, her children Fred Raskopf (Kristine) of Greenville, NY, Elizabeth Hall (Charles) of Greenville, NY, MaryEllen Kawauchi (David) of Middletown, NY, Margaret Dodd (Stephen) of Aurora, IL, Barbara Shapiro of Shokan, NY, Kathryn Hadley of Geneva, NY, and her 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many extended family.
