Obituary of Philip H. Theiss

Theiss, Philip Henry - Greenville, NY passed away December 4, 2015 at Hospice Inn in St. Peter's Hospital. Philip was born in Brooklyn to Henry and Anna Theiss on October 3, 1933. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Freda Dutton Theiss, his three brothers- Henry, William and Daniel and a granddaughter Katy Lyn Serls. He was a Life Member of the Westerlo Volunteer Fire Co. as well as a member of the Albany and Greene County Vol. Firemen Associations. He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from Hannay Reels. He is survived by his sister, Ruth Tobin as well as four daughters- Deborah Theiss-Mackey (Ken), Betty Serls (Glenn Sugawara), Phyllis Magee (Ron), Dawn LePage (Gregg). He was grandpa to Philip and Daniel Mackey, Casey Serls/Amaral (Scott), Ashley Serls/Duval (Dan), Lindsey Serls, Tracy Magee (Ryan Ricci), Shelby Magee, Delaney, Addey and Calem LePage. He was great grandpa to Mason Mackey, Jacob & Joshua Smith & Logan Amaral. His daughters would like to thank all of his friends who were an important part of his life. Calling hours will be on Monday December 7, 2015 from 4 to 8pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, NY 12083. A service will be held on Tuesday December 8th at 11am at the funeral home, followed by burial in Brookside Cemetery, Preston Hollow. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Westerlo Rescue Squad, PO Box 12, Westerlo, NY 12193 or the Hospice Inn c/o Hospice Center for Philanthropy, 310 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
