WESTERLO – Helen M. (Sisson) Hempstead, 72, passed away on Tuesday morning, October 27, 2015 at her residence. Born on June 23, 1943 in Albany, she was daughter of the late John E. and Huldah Mae Chase Homeyer. Helen was raised in Voorheesville and graduated from Voorheesville schools. She was an international representative for Spaulding & Rogers in New Salem, and was a demonstrator for Friendly Home Parties. Helen was involved with the activities of her four sons. She lived in Arkansas for 10 years, returning to Westerlo in 2009.

Helen is survived by her four sons, Stanley R. (Tina) Sisson, Steven R. Sisson, Bryan J. Sisson, and Frank D. (Charity) Hempstead Jr.; 10 grandchildren, Andrew, Sean, Travis, Breanna, Nicole, Alysha, Sabrina, Trevor, Hannah and Franklin III; siblings, Sandra Winters, Mark, Philip and Stanley Homeyer; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husbands, Leland Sisson and Franklin Hempstead; siblings, John Homeyer and Roxanne Ciaccia.

Calling hours will be Friday, October 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral will be Saturday, October 31 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Berne.
