GREENVILLE – Evelyn J. Jennings, 80, passed away on Monday October 12, 2015. She was born on December 24, 1934 in the Bronx to the late James J. and Florence E. O'Brien Buell. She grew up in the Bronx and worked in Manhattan as a private secretary. She moved to Greenville in 1970 and worked at the Greenville Central School as an aid. Evelyn was a life time member of the Greenville American Legion Auxiliary Unit # 291, was the past president of the Ladies Auxiliary, was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 7229 Auxiliary, and was a past member of the Greenville Rescue Squad. She was an avid bowler with the American Legion League. She was a volunteer at the Fisher House in Albany and a NY State Long Term Ombudsman (Advocate) in an assisted living home. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her first husband, Howard F. Shea; her second husband, Walton S. Jennings; and her siblings, Constance, William (Phyllis), Raymond (Norma), and Donald (Lee) Buell.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters, MaryEllen (Randy) Barkman and Kathleen Ann Shea (Jeff Miller); her step-daughters, Jean Ingoglia and Christine (William) Haller; her grandchildren, Lindsay (Steven) Castagna, Lacey Barkman, Curtis (Veronica) Barkman, Joshua Shea, Shealyn Miller, Jacque (Sherry) Garrigan, Tracy Vittea, Terese Ingoglia, Jennifer (Matthew) Rochler, William (Monique) Haller, Dawn (Joseph) Danner, Brian (Tammy) Haller, and Debra (Donnie) Filkins; 17 great grandchildren with one on the way; three great great grandchildren; brother, James J. Buell and his wife, Dorothy, "also known as my best friend"; several nieces and nephews; and her special angel, Dolores Soldner Rogers.

Calling hours will be on Thursday October 15, 2015 from 4 to 7pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, NY 12083 with a prayer by the Greene County Blue Star Mothers at 6pm and a Legion Auxiliary service at 6:30pm. A funeral service will take place on Friday October 16th at 11am at the funeral home, followed by burial in Greenville Cemetery.
