Obituary of Reginald G. Duncan

MEDUSA – Reginald "Reggie" G. Duncan Sr., 68, passed away on Sunday July 26, 2015 after a brief illness. He was born in Catskill on April 21, 1947 to the late Howard and Bertha Knowles Duncan. Reggie was raised and lived his whole life in Medusa. He worked as a laborer in construction for Local 190 in Albany, retiring 14 years ago. He had served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, and was very proud of the medals he received during his service: National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal w/ 2 Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 60 Device, and Bronze Star Medal. Reggie was a handy man, and was the man to go to if something needed to be fixed. He loved sports, and often joked about hating the Yankees. He enjoyed fishing and especially going to auctions, flea markets and garage sales. His favorite quote was "You damn fool", and if he liked you, he would say that to you. His family was everything to him, a true family man. He loved spending time with his grandkids. Reggie is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Relyea Duncan; his loving children, Reginald Gordon (Samantha Marie) Duncan Jr., Kimberly Ann (Thomas Daniel) Diamond, Ashley Lynn Duncan, and Kerrie Marie Duncan; his adored grandchildren, Faith Ann Diamond, Audrey Kay Duncan, Brandon Logan Diamond, Tristen Thomas Diamond, Bristol Paige Duncan, Ian Edward Willsey, and Zoey Florence Duncan; his siblings, Len (Peg) Duncan, Ken Duncan, Janet Hoyt, Gloria Diamond, Alan Duncan, Ron (Gloria) Duncan, Patricia (Jon) Case; sister-in-law Arlene Ingalls; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Rudolph Duncan and brother-in-law Ken Hoyt. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday July 28th from 5 to 8pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, NY 12083. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday July 29th at 12:30pm at the funeral home, followed by burial in the Medusa Cemetery.
