Obituary of Roberta Marie Griffin

Roberta Marie Griffin, 81, of Germantown, died peacefully at home Sunday 24 MAY 2015 after a fearless battle with Cancer. Born on 04 DEC 1933 in Cairo, she was the daughter of the late Alfred E. and Edna W. Morrison. Roberta graduated Greenville High School in 1951 and began her career as an Operator for NY Telephone in Albany. Loyal and true, she served as Chief Steward for their Union (CWA Local 1120) for many years, retiring in 1994. She married Kenneth N. Griffin in 1955; they loved and laughed together until his passing in 1988. She continued brave and strong with a life of selfless service and giving to others. A lover of travel and the view of the mountains, she was a long time volunteer of the Germantown Food Bank and the Democratic National Party. At home behind the wheel with a heavy right foot, she was true grit. Roberta is survived by her son Kyle J. Griffin, daughter Keri M. Pettingill, son in law Marvin, granddaughter Jessica, in laws Ed and Mary Griffin, Bruce and Shirl Vickerson, several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
